It’s been a while hasn’t it? 7 months and 1 day to be exact.

One thing you’ll realise, and what I should be honest about (as I always have been) with Stop The World is, I will write when I am feeling well enough to write. Unfortunately, with depression and anxiety, it can rear it’s ugly head at any time – it’s not all that predictable.

I’ve wanted to write again for about a month or so but for the first time in about 10 years, I had writers block. I had so much I wanted to say, but I had no idea where to start.

There’s been SO MANY big life changes recently. I’ve been through a break up, started a new job and decided that I want to stay in the South of England (which as a Northerner was a big deal).

I made the decision to stay because I needed to live my life for me. For a long time I’d been living it for an ‘us’ and unfortunately, that ‘us’ is no longer the same as it was 5 and a half years ago.

My ex is a very private person and I have all the respect in the world not to go into too much detail about our relationship and why it ended on here. It’s probably the only thing I will keep from the Stop The World community. However, if you ask – I will probably tell you.

The exciting thing about this whole new chapter, for both me and my friends, is that the break up ignited something in me whereby I am now more tragic than ever.

Oh yeah people – do not think for one second that I am any less tragic than I’ve been before. I’ve grown up in some ways, but I’m also the same tragic Lauren Gillett that we’ve all come to know and laugh at (and with).

Here’s a quick run down of the highlights of the Tragic Life of LG in the last month:

1) The Photo That Almost Resulted in Concussion
I almost kicked a man in the head while taking a photo in Madrid. My best friends’ remain it was their favourite part of the holiday

2) Flirting 2.0
When trying to flirt with someone, I lifted their t-shirt t up to tell them that they have no abs which resulted in them thinking I was a dickhead for the rest of the night (admittedly I am)

3) Happy Forgotten Birthday Hannah
I forgot my best friends 26th birthday and realised a week later after having an epiphany on the toilet

4) The Flirty Fart
When flirting with a guy, I also accidentally told him that I had farted during sex. I then made the same mistake again by telling someone on a date the exact same story.

5) Late Late Late
After already running late to pick up the football girls, I realised I lost my car for a good half an hour in Brighton and then realised after finding it eventually – I’d also lost my parking ticket. Luckily it only cost me £15!

There’s so many more things I could have put and unfortunately, as I begin to start dating – there seems to be more and more of these stories that occur.

So watch this space – Stop The World is back and I can’t wait for the next chapter.

Love always,

Lauren x

Positive of the day: I’m actually excited to go to work for the first time in about 5 years because I love my job!
